Seit dem ersten Tag sind die großartigen Weine der Domaine de Fondrèche ein unverzichtbarer Eckpfeiler unseres Sortiments. Sébastien Vincenti hat sich in diesen Jahren zu einem der Superstars der südlichen Rhône entwickelt. Seine grandiosen Weine vom Mont Ventoux werden heute weltweit gefeiert und in einem Atemzug mit Spitzengewächsen aus dem benachbarten Châteauneuf-du-Pape gefeiert. Die jüngsten Jahrgänge bestätigen uns in der Ansicht, dass die Domaine de Fondrèche zu den wirklichen Spitzenerzeugern in Frankreichs malerischem Süden gehört. Robert Parker´s THE WINE ADVOCATE: "A blend of 90% Grenache (maturing in a Stockinger foudre) with 5% each Mourvèdre and Syrah (each aging separately in new barrels), the 2019 Ventoux Il Etait Une Fois is dark-hued and fruit-driven, with an abundance of black cherries and purple raspberries. Full-bodied, rich and almost thick-feeling, it's velvety and plush, but with ample acidity, which leaves the finish vibrant, fresh and long.
Former sommelier Sebastien Vicenti installed himself at Fondreche in 1995, so the 2020 harvest marks an anniversary of sorts. Located in Mazan, at a slightly lower elevation, his 40-hectare estate ripens its grapes earlier than (for example) Château Pesquié. The reds are a bit plummier and denser as a result, but he's increasingly focused on retaining freshness and acidity in both his reds and his whites. Fondreche is another quality leader in the appellation, helping bring greater attention to what has been a quiet area dominated by cooperative cellars.
